ADDITIONAL
"E" Coy. INFORMATION
2/Lt. J.I. Brasenell
(1890-1971)
is listed above as a Battle Platoon Officer in
"E" Coy., i/c 18B Platoon. Lt. Brasenell had
seen Great War service
in North Africa and
Palestine fighting the Turks. He was a sergeant
with a platoon of Arabs, and he gained a good
knowledge of Arabic. By
1940 he was a tram driver based at Washwood
Heath and was therefore too old for normal
military service - hence his membership of the
Home Guard.
